Or a GA: Death army using mostly TK units as deathstars and maxing out heroes to buff them up. My two favourite ways of playing TKs are a completely high speed army with a TKoEC. If you're playing for fun, use what you want but anyone playing more competitively won't be using any of that stuff at all. Units that I wouldn't use anymore: Tomb Queen (unless you're doing full shooting army), Liche priest (Necromancer is straight up better), Casket of souls (unless doing a full shooting theme), tomb guard (they're not bad, but they're overpriced for how much support they need and most other units get far better benefit from having that support focused on them instead), tomb scorpions (just don't do enough), Any sphinxes are now hugely overcosted so they're pretty hard to justify including, bone giant is pretty meh now too, catapult is just a gimmick. Generally they still play around heroes and buffs, and stacking effects which makes them really fun. Tomb kings are still really good, they can work fine on their own but they also work really good as GA: Death where you can throw in other heroes to help them out. I look forward to hearing anything y’all can come up with to help, but am prepared to use my army as Deathrattle if the general thought is that Tomb Kings are unusable. I’d also appreciate word from people who’ve played against Tomb Kings, use Deathrattle (cause let’s face it they probably play similar), or cavalry heavy factions. This was a whole lot of me sayin what I’ve been thinking after my first game of AoS, I’m hoping to hear any batreps, strategies, or tips from fellow Tomb Kings players. In Fantasy I stopped using the basic skeletons completely in favour of a large death star of Tomb Guard, I’m curious as to whether that will work as it did. My Skeleton Legionnaires don’t seem too bad, but I don’t have any Tomb Guard to compare them against, so I’ll proxy them soon to test. The normal Horsemen I feel much the same about, but taking them to shield for my Chariots is viable I believe. What used to be my go-to unit for harassing and taking out back line units is now an extremely expensive point hole that doesn’t do much at all. Also, the Bow Horsemen seem very underwhelming for their point cost. A unit of 20+ archers outperforms it constantly, even if I sink the points to put a Necrotect near it. I feel like the Screaming Skull will be lost forever with its one, unreliable, shot. Besides that, there isn’t really anything that sticks out to me. Being able to get a chariot, or Necropolis Knight, back for free every turn is very good and can cause huge problems for the opponent. On the upside, the banners for Tomb Kings are probably the best thing about them. In AoS, my once powerful Liche Priest is only casting one spell every turn, my units don’t regenerate when they are targeted by him, and he only has a nerfed version of a single Lore spell! Seeing this has made me seriously doubt Tomb Kings will ever be the magic power houses they were, which is very disappointing and throws off how I know to play. Tomb Kings,in Fantasy, relied heavily on magic and spamming a whole bunch of the Lore of Nehekara spells to buff/regenerate units and weaken enemies. r/Warhammer Competitive for discussion of tournament/competition listsĪfter a long while of running away from AoS after Tomb Kings were cut, I’ve finally come back to my favorite army, and am wondering how to use them in this new game. r/warhammer for more discussion of GW games Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions TCG Subreddit Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire, Nightvault, and Beastgrave Subreddit DiscordĪllied Discord Server with /r/Warhammer Links Posts & comments can and will be removed at the moderators discretion, no arguments will be entered into. ![]() No real-world political or religious content Posts containing them will be removed automatically.
